COASTAL BEHAVIORAL THERAPY, INC currently subcontracts the following services to meet the needs of the children and families of Brevard, Orange, and Osceola counties.
CONTRACT DESCRIPTIONS
1. Contract: Specialized Mentor (children and adults)
Minimum requirements for a Specialized Mentor include at least 1 year experience working with children and families and/or pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or other comparable field. All Mentors must have completed Level II background checks, Local Criminal History Checks, and a Children's Functional Assessment Rater (CFAR) and Functional Assessment Rater (FAR) number assigned to them.
Specialized Mentors allow children aged 3-17 years old access to home or community-based instruction related to health, personal development, social development, and life skills. These activities may include connecting them to local community centers to build peer relationships, access sports, fishing, and/or reading together, etc. Mentoring will also introduce children to new activities/sports to encourage exercise as needed. An important function is to help the family access free community resources so that they may continue after closure of the case. Positive role modeling will be a crucial part of the mentoring program. The service is not intended to be therapeutic, only a positive experience. Service duration generally lasts up to 6 months. Each case is evaluated individually. If a case requires a shorter or longer intervention, you can propose your recommendation to the respective funding source for approval.
Contractor will be responsible for client management, scheduling and documentation that verifies completed service.
